In western civilization Religion/Faith/Festivals are inflitrated by Corporate Marketing/Consumerization propaganda, removing Spiritual sacredness!
During 1920-30s Economic Crisis in west, fat model with red dress selling Cold drink was released on Christmas winter to woo customers, it got popular so trend is continued next year which ultimately became Santa Claus figure giving gifts to kids.
So, today’s fat-red Santa Claus was started as a marketing model to sell chilled soft drinks in winter cold where sales are naturally down!! Then attached to some ancient European Saint story giving gift to kids!(?)
Same way western greeting card industry discovered and exploited Friendship Day, Mothers Day, Valentine’s day, Anniversary, etc to fool people and sale their cards!
Only stupid ignorant Indians fall in their trap!

Another gift by India to world! Hindu festival of Holi or Rang Panchami is now hugely popular in west (see clip), which is actually celebrated after community Holika (fire set-up) ritual followed by lord Vishnu worship and prayers, is a symbol of victory over two gunas (roughly means Qualities) – Rajas guna (egoistic/self-centered/selfishness) and Tamas guna (negative/dull/inertia/ignorant) in order to improve remaining third Saatvik Guna (Purity/Goodness/ Harmony/Peaceful/Balance).
Colors here are to activate Panchabhuta (5 elements) of cosmos – Prithvi (earth), Jal (Water), Agni (fire), Vayu (air) and Akasha (ether).
